software: a set of commands processed for an output
        e.g.  utility software is used to change the system
                operating system
                application 

Hardware: the physical componets in a system

Input Devices e.g. mouse, keyboard

Rom: read only memory, doesn't change, permanent, non volatile, primary memory 

Ram: holds whats going on write now, random access memory, primary memory

Mainframe computing: bulk processing



Hardrive: secondary storage (hold for days)

Output: e.g. printers

Interface: GUI (graphical user interface) are wimps (windows, icon, menu, pointing device)
                command line interface
